About Us
Sisters Gabriela and Alex dreamt up the MI Soda Parlor idea last summer while sitting by the pool, tanning, in Utah. Alex had introduced Gabriela to the Utah-based world of dirty sodas earlier that week and Gabriela was disappointed to have to go back home without a local spot that quite measures up to the deliciousness of a dirty soda. They decided their hometown – Midland, MI – needed a soda shop of its very own, and so MI Soda Parlor was born.
Gabriela and Alex have always been partners in crime – they balance eachother out and agree on almost everything, which makes running a business together feel natural. They’re both as involved as possible, from new flavor development to day-to-day operations.

Hi, I’m Gabriela! I’m currently juggling college classes and working toward becoming a dental hygienist all while turning a dream into reality by co-founding MI Soda Parlor.
I’ve always been up for a challenge, and have become somewhat of a “jack of all trades.” From leading the Dow High band as drum major and participating in an engineering capstone to running meticulous testing in an antimicrobial lab and working in fast paced environments like Costco and Panda Express, I’ve done it all. I am obsessed with tacos and truly believe that Taco Tuesday should be a mandatory tradition.
My love for dirty sodas started after a trip to visit my sister, Alex, last summer. I became hooked instantly and I knew it was going to be hard living without anyplace nearby to satisfy the craving, so we had to bring the dirty soda magic to Midland!
At MI Soda Parlor, I handle the daily operations, manage our team, and coordinate where we’re popping up each week! I love the fast-paced, ever-changing, entrepreneurial nature of it all!
When I’m not running the soda shop show (or studying for school), you’ll find me binging TV, writing comics, or perfecting my nails. I’ve always dreamed of starting my own business, and I couldn’t be more excited to share MI Soda Parlor with all of you!
Alex, Co-Founder
Hi, I’m Alex! I’ve been married to my sweet husband, Spencer, since 2022. And he’s the brains (and the muscle) behind flipping our mobile soda shop to make our dream a reality!
Spencer and I met country dancing and it’s still something we love to do, even if we are a little out of shape! We have a great dane, Murphy, who’s not only the best dog a girl could ask for, but she is also a trained service dog. We are also licensed foster parents — hands down one of the best (and most chaotic) decisions we’ve ever made!
My love for dirty sodas started during the years I spent living in Utah on and off. What started as a casual treat quickly became a full-on obsession — now I’m having one almost every day of the week! I introduced my sister and co-founder, Gabriela, to the craze, and together we knew we had to bring it to Midland!
At MI Soda Parlor, I’m involved in as much as possible — from social media and marketing to procedure and menu development. I love creating new flavor combinations, dreaming up fun names, and making sure our brand feels fun and exciting!
When I’m not neck-deep in the business, you’ll probably find me shopping, at a pilates class or on my next Disneyland trip. I love that MI Soda Parlor gives me a creative outlet and a way to share a little happiness with the people in my hometown — because sometimes, a sweet treat really can make your day a million times better.
